It's Just Another Manic Monday

Favorite day of the week = Sunday

Why? During NFL season football games all day and what could be better. Also, because of the time I get to spend at church. I love being able to be with the Lord and praise him. I love to sing in public and not worry about my terrible no good singing voice.

Least favorite day of the week = Monday
Why? Well because of days like today.....................

  • First I wake up late and have to rush getting showered. I was 5 minutes late to babysit and I absolutely hate being late.
  • I pour myself a diet coke and for some smart reason decide to put it on the floor. Well, the dog decides to knock the drink over on the carpet. This took many paper towels to clean up.
  • As I was shutting the pantry door throwing all the paper towels away I completely sliced off my whole toe nail :( It was awful and so much pain. I absolutely love my feet (weird I know) and hate when they get dirty. I often spend too much money on pedicures and the worst part is I don't know how long it will take to heal before I can get one.
  • I stop being a baby about my hurt toe and change little Cameron's diaper. Well let's just say he starts to go #2 as I am changing him. I put a diaper back on and patiently wait until he is done. Then I continue to change his diaper and pee goes straight up in the air lands on his face and his very cute outfit.
  • I come home and lean against a chair and it breaks off. I later did find out that it was already like that and was temporarily fixed.
I must say I toughed out my throbbing toe nail and went to Crossfit which made my day much better. Also, coming home to watch this didn't hurt either.

I need to add that I think he did great and that they continue to score him too low.

Weekend Recap

Friday

Did my monthly routine by going to get my hair done. I must say I look forward to this. I have been going to the same lady my whole life and she is wonderful. I love to talk to her and I have a very close relationship with her. (I recently have realized how dark my hair really is I hate when my roots show. Thinking maybe I should go back to my normal hair color if I even know what that is anymore) After this I met Beth at Chili's and we "cheated" and ate tons of chips and salsa, but I have to say it was totally worth it. We then went to see The Last Song (Yes, this was my second time) I clearly must have liked it, but did have to get over the fact that Miley Cyrus was in the movie. It did help that the male character in the movie was wonderful to look at. Afterwards went and had a sleepover with Beth.

Saturday

I was convinced to go work out early in the morning with Beth. I usually don't like to work out early and think my work outs are much stronger in the afternoon. I must say it felt great though to start my day off that way. We then got ready to hit Keeneland. We had a great time and I was very happy the weather cleared up. I saw so many people I know and must say the time went by so fast. I honestly think I saw one horse while I was there and didn't see a race. After that went to eat at Rin Con where me, Beth, and my sister had a very weird encounter, but I'm not going into that. After that we hung out at Beth's and hit the bar. We went to my favorite Hugo's. I know Amy thinks it smells bad (which most of the time it does) and you have to avoid the creeps that try to dance with you or ask you about your boyfriend. No, I don't have one, but that night I 100% made one up to avoid the many creeps I encountered. I had a great time and was happy to be with my friends and get to dance.

Sunday

Spent the day with my family in Louisville. I love them dearly and cherish our time together. I have the best Gram. I have spent all the holidays at that house since I was born. It was great to see my cousins, but wish the Indiana Rose's would have been able to be there. It is very important to remember the importance of this day. I am thankful for my Savior and glad I got to spend this special day with my lovely family and my sister's roommate who I love. Hope you guys had a great weekend!

(I promised myself I would take more pictures this weekend. My weekend picture total= 0. Oh well, there is always next weekend.)

I do believe I babysit two of the cutest kids

Tyler who is 2 1/2 is so active and I love it. He is always wanting to play wii, baseball, golf, basketball, etc. He sure does keep me active, but I wouldn't want it any other way. It melts my heart when he says he watched JOHN WALL (he always screams his name), Big Cousins, P squared, and Bledsoe play basketball. I love that he is already a Wildcat. Yes, he does know the John Wall dance. I only have Tyler two days a week because he goes to school the other three.

Cameron is only two months and is the best baby. Today we took full advantage of the weather and went for a walk around the neighborhood.

(don't know why this picture is so small)

He honestly sleeps all the time. I love for him to be with me though and will always have him fall asleep with me and it is precious.

How cute is all his UK stuff? I seriously love to look at all his clothes and I must say these are my favorite outfits.

My Guilty Pleasures

I love watching TV. Sometimes I am embarrassed to admit how much TV I do watch. When moving home with my parents I insisted on having DVR in my room. There are many things I miss about my old roommate Jesse and one of the main things is relaxing on the couch with her catching up on DVR. She was always up for a good TV show. Here are my weekly TV shows:

Monday:

Dancing with the Stars
One Tree Hill
Bachelor (Currently awaiting the new season)
Gossip Girl
Life Unexpected

Tuesday:

American Idol
90210
The Biggest Loser
Dancing with the Stars

Wednesday:

American Idol
Real World
Cougar Town

Thursday:

Grey's Anatomy
Private Practice
Taking the Stage

Sunday:

Brothers & Sisters
Desperate Housewives
Kendra
Coach Cal Show
Keeping up with the Kardashians (currently not on)

Everyday:
Ellen
Friends
Beverly Hills 90210
Sportscenter (at least 2 X's)

It's sad that I feel like I am leaving some shows out.

Yes, if you have paid close attention you may notice on Tuesday I run into a DVR conflict. All my shows come on at the same time. Thankfully living at home we have one downstairs which solves all my problems. Please don't judge for my TV obsession I swear I do have a life.

A Blue Mist

I love Kentucky basketball and have ever since I can remember. I remember when they won in 1996 and 1998 having tears streaming down my face because I was so excited we won. Also, I will never forget 1997 losing and locking myself in a closet on Spring Break for hours crying for a very different reason. I may or may not be embarrassed of this and still hear about it from the family we were on vacation with. I have followed UK basketball for years and I can't remember a team as fun to watch as this year. I decided to head to Nashville with my good friend Melisa-Beth, my parents, and Ali & Melissa before they left us to go on Spring Break. Here is a recap of our AWESOME weekend:

1. Get money out of the ATM for MB. Well, she couldn't remember her pin number which led to her card getting DETAINED. Luckily, we were able to get money and head on our journey. Hoping the bad luck wouldn't continue.

2. Arrive in Nasvhille with ONE mission in mind: find tickets! I knew it was going to be crazy to find tickets, but had no idea it was going to be like it was. For the game on Friday tickets were going at the very least $250 for a single ticket upper level. We were hoping our luck and our upset faces would get us a ticket, but we were wrong.

3. We ended up having a great time watching the game at a bar, but still hoping our luck would get better and we would find tickets. There were about twice as many people outside the arena as inside watching the game. The scene was hard to put into words. We spent the rest of the afternoon walking in and out of bars doing C A T S CATS CATS CATS cheers with the thousands of other fans there. The bars at 3:00 in the afternoon were packed with UK fans. We ended up spending the whole day on Broadway listening to live music. That night we bought tickets for $10 to watch the 2nd session. We were hoping to buy tickets from a team that lost. Well that plan FAILED as well. MB and I were beyond tired at this point we went back to our friend Lauren's apartment and crashed. Here is our best attempt of doing the John Wall dance:

4. Saturday we woke up hoping for a new day with better luck. We went to Broadway to find tickets and today the prices were $300 to $500. I was in the worst mood and literally about to cry. I wanted to go to this game so bad. I got a call from my dad telling me to stop even searching for tickets and to come find him. This was the same time my mom and MB were giving me a pep talk to cheer up. Also, this was just right after my mom told me my dad was talking to another random person he knew that he hasn't seen in years (if you know my dad this happens ALL the time). I went to find him and he pulled TWO tickets out of his pocket. This random friend he was talking to felt bad for me and gave us two FREE tickets. I can't describe how excited I was!! He was a TRUE blue fan!

5. We went into the game and our seats were awesome! We were first row in the upper section at mid court. I had a great view. My favorite memory (other than easily beating Tennessee) was EVERY single time from start to finish that Rocky Top came on the WHOLE arena started chanting "Go Big Blue". It was so loud you could barely hear the band. It happened every time. Also, we were in Tennessee's home state and 98% of the arena was blue plus everyone outside watching the game.

6. After the game we went to the bars with all the wonderful UK fans for the rest of the night! I got a call from a 615 number that I didn't know. I instantly listened to my voicemail and it was the same wonderful man offering me the tickets for tomorrows game. This weekend could not get any better!

7. Sunday we woke up knowing we had tickets and it was great! Not to mention it was the best game I had ever been to. I must say I was sick for most of the game, but as I have learned all year this team always REFUSES TO LOSE!!! I was so happy after the game. SEC CHAMPS!

8. This team is SO fun to watch! UK fans are truly being spoiled this year. This is what Kentucky basketball is all about and I love it. I don't know if my nerves will be able to handle the tournament this year. No matter what happens this team has brought us so many great memories this year and that will NEVER be forgotten! GO CATS!!!!!!!

9. The ride home was great! MB and I were so happy that we didn't even care how long it took us to get home. We kept talking about what happened and listened to the Selection Show on the radio. It was amazing to see how many UK fans were down there. I swear the whole time I was there I think I only saw 3 Florida fans. The atmosphere was unreal and was awesome even if you didn't go the the games. When I got home I watched the Tennessee game again and the last of the Mississippi St. game at least 50 times (that is not a joke).

10. This journey has been so fun with this team and I do not want it to be over. I can't wait for the tournament to start! Here are some other pictures from the weekend:

Freedom Hall Thoughts

The Louisville Cardinals played their last game in Freedom Hall today here are my thoughts:

1. I was forced to watch this game because my parents have so many "memories" from watching games at Freedom Hall. I also wanted to watch Syracuse and see this zone defense that ESPN seems so fixated on.

2. Did Rick Pitno's tie really match his jacket?

3. Did it make anyone else mad when they were showing the great moments at Freedom Hall and they showed Sosa's three pointer to beat UK last year and called it the shot heard around the Commonwealth? Patrick Sparks immediately came to mind.

4. No matter how much I dislike Louisville it is so much fun to watch a shooter who is absolutely on fire. Kyle Kuric (who?) scored all of his 22 points in the 2nd half to lead Louisville. I must also point out he is from my birth town Evansville, Indiana.

5. As a Kentucky fan I'm not sure who I wanted to win this game. It didn't matter to me that we might move up one spot in the polls this week all I'm worried about is getting a #1 seed.

6. I got a little laugh when the commentator said that security had to lock Freedom Hall last night because fans were coming in to get memorabilia because they thought it was closing. No, it is not closing just the last game Louisville is playing there.

7. After, the game I felt the need to change my outfit to my UK sweatshirt and blue headband.

That is all I'm going to say because I could go on for a long time about Louisville. Even though I've been told many times by my Dad that I can cheer for both it is just not possible for me.

Shutter Island

I absolutely love going to the movies and pretty much will see anything. Last night I went to see Shutter Island. I am known for asking a lot of questions during movies so I tried my best to follow this whole movie because I heard it was confusing. Well I must say it sure was. There was so many times I looked at my friend thinking what is going on? Overall, I enjoyed the movie, but the sad part is I am still not sure if I even understand what happened.
